Bio
Born in Gemünden am Main, Berlin based photographer Heinz Peter Knes has established himself as one of Germany's leading photographers in the past few years, after a short residence in Cologne.
Since 1998 he works and publishes in magazines such as Purple, Butt, i-D, Nylon, 032c, Dutch, Spex, Doingbird, Camera Austria, among others, and has photographed for record labels such as Virgin and Columbia. Co-founder of the photofanzine "Strahlung", supported through the Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, Knes is also featured in the Best Of Butt, a book to celebrate the 5 years of the magazine from Amsterdam, prepared by the editors Jop van Bennekom and Gert Jonkers with London-based German photographer Wolfgang Tillmans.
Heinz Peter Knes has exhibited in the past years in Paris, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Berlin & Cologne. Heinz Peter Knes lives and works in Berlin.
